EV Farms Permanent Marker Review: 9/10 – Loud Marker Funk & Heavy Effects (NJ)
Share
EV Family Farms out of the Atlantic City area is putting out some of the cleaner, more terp-forward flower in New Jersey right now. Their Permanent Marker is a strong example of why this strain still gets talked about years after it first blew up.

Genetics Permanent Marker is an indica-dominant hybrid (roughly 70/30) bred by Seed Junky Genetics. The cross is (Biscotti × Sherb BX) × Jealousy. That Cookies and Gelato family stacking is exactly why it delivers both candy sweetness and heavy gas in the same jar.
This Batch (EV Farms) One well-documented batch tested around 30.5% THC with 4.46% total terpenes. Dominant terpenes included limonene in the lead, followed by β-caryophyllene and humulene. EV Farms grows traditional, hand-tended plants with organic-leaning practices and proper curing — the kind of approach that actually lets the genetics express fully.

Looks Dense, frosty nugs with classic Permanent Marker bag appeal. Deep green with purple hues, heavy trichome coverage, and bright pistils. Sticky and resinous when broken up.
Nose This is where the name comes from. Sharp chemical and marker-ink notes hit first, followed by gas, sweet candy, and a soapy-floral edge. On the EV Farms cut, reviewers have noted red berry Kool-Aid sweetness underneath the chemo/marker funk, along with a subtle licorice undertone. Loud in the jar.
Flavor Tracks the nose closely. Sweet berry and candy on the inhale, then the chemical-marker and gas come through cleanly on the exhale. More layered than a lot of Permanent Marker cuts that lean pure solvent. The high terpene numbers show up in the actual smoke.
Effects Creeper. Builds over 10–15 minutes. Starts with a solid euphoric lift and some visual intensity, then settles into a heavy, relaxing body high that pulls toward bedtime. Not immediate couch-lock, but it definitely ends the night. Cleaner and more enjoyable than some of the harsher Marker phenos floating around New Jersey.
Overall EV Farms is doing Permanent Marker justice. Fresh, terpy, properly grown flower with the loud marker funk people actually want from these genetics. If you like candy-gas hybrids that hit hard and finish heavy, this is one of the better versions available in New Jersey right now.
Score: 9/10
