Blue Lobster Strain Review NJ — Score: 8.7/10
Blue Lobster is the current standout lobster strain on New Jersey shelves. Cipher Genetics bred the original Apples & Bananas × Eye Candy cross. Maine Trees hunted the keeper pheno and named it after the one-in-two-million blue lobster. The result is an indica-leaning hybrid (roughly 60/40) that has stacked hardware — Best Terps, Gassiest Flower, and Best Tasting at the East Coast Zalympix — plus a Leafly Strain of the Year 2025 nomination. In NJ the Grassroots cuts have been the most consistent ones circulating. Score: 8.7/10.
Looks
Dense, medium-to-large nugs with that signature blue-green to deep purple fade. Heavy trichome frost, bright orange pistils cutting through. Sticky structure that holds up in the jar. Strong bag appeal without looking over-manicured.
Nose & Flavor
Blueberry candy hits first and loud. Ripe grape and stone fruit follow, then a creamy gas layer underneath. Sweet blueberry and candy on the inhale, creamy fruit with light gas on the exhale. Smooth burn, white ash on the better batches. One of the better tasting eighths currently available in New Jersey.
Effects
Comes on with a clean euphoric lift that keeps the head clear and social. Body settles in warm and relaxed but stays functional at moderate doses — good for evening sessions where you still want to talk or move around. Higher doses lean heavier and more sedating. THC commonly lands 26–30% depending on the batch. Dominant terpenes: limonene, caryophyllene, myrcene.
