Dream OG Nutrient Schedule (Blue Dream × OG Kush Hybrid)

Dream OG Nutrient Schedule (Blue Dream × OG Kush Hybrid)

Dream OG Nutrient Schedule (Blue Dream × OG Kush Hybrid)

Dream OG is a moderate-to-heavy feeder with good resilience. It responds well to consistent feeding but is prone to nutrient burn if you push too hard (especially in veg). This schedule is designed for soil or coco coir in fabric pots — the most common for home growers in Oregon. Adjust based on your medium, water source, and plant response (always “less is more” when in doubt).

General Guidelines

  • pH: Soil 6.0–6.8 | Coco/Hydro 5.5–6.2
  • EC/TDS: Start low and increase gradually. Measure runoff weekly.
  • Watering: Allow top 1–2 inches to dry between waterings. Use pH’d water.
  • Base Nutrients: Fox Farm Trio, General Hydroponics Flora Series, or Advanced Nutrients pH Perfect line all work great.
  • Supplements: Cal-Mag (especially in coco), silica (optional for stronger stems), bloom boosters in flower.
  • Flush: Final 7–10 days with plain pH’d water.

Vegetative Stage (Weeks 1–6+)

Focus: Strong root and leaf development (high Nitrogen).

Week N-P-K Focus Base Nutrients (per gal) Supplements Notes
1–2 (Seedling) Very low ¼ strength veg formula None Light feeding or just water + Cal-Mag
3–4 High N ½–¾ strength (e.g., 1–1.5 tsp Fox Farm Grow) Cal-Mag 1 tsp LST/topping week
5–6 Full Veg Full strength veg nutes Silica (optional), Cal-Mag Train heavily; watch for stretch

Target EC: 0.8–1.4 mS/cm early veg → 1.6–2.0 late veg.

Flowering Stage (Weeks 7–15 / 8–9 weeks flower)

Switch to 12/12 light. Reduce Nitrogen, ramp Phosphorus & Potassium.

Flower Week N-P-K Focus Base Nutrients Supplements Notes
1–2 Transition ¾ veg + ¼ bloom Cal-Mag, Molasses (optional) Pistils appear; aroma develops
3–4 Bloom Full bloom formula (high P/K) Bloom booster, Silica Bud sites swell
5–6 Peak Bloom Full bloom + booster PK additive (e.g., Bloom or Big Bud) Heavy feeding window
7–8 Ripening Reduce to ¾ strength Minimal Watch trichomes
9 (Flush) None Plain pH’d water None 7–10 days flush for smooth flavor

Target EC: 1.4–2.2 mS/cm peak flower. Drop sharply during flush.

Brand-Specific Example (Fox Farm Trio – Popular & Reliable)

  • Grow Big (Veg): Weeks 3–6
  • Tiger Bloom (Flower): Weeks 1–8 flower
  • Big Bloom (Microbial tea): Every watering for beneficials
  • Beastie Bloomz / Cha Ching: Weeks 4–6 flower for extra PK boost

Advanced Nutrients users: Use pH Perfect Grow/Micro/Bloom + Bud Candy, Big Bud, Overdrive on the recommended schedule.

Common Issues & Fixes for Dream OG

  • Tip Burn (Nitrogen toxicity): Reduce strength 25–50% immediately.
  • Yellowing lower leaves: Normal in late flower; boost Cal-Mag if early.
  • Magnesium deficiency (interveinal yellowing): Common in Oregon’s soft water — add Cal-Mag.
  • Overwatering: Leads to root rot — fabric pots help prevent this.

Oregon Outdoor Adjustments:

  • Use compost-rich soil and slow-release organic amendments.
  • Top-dress with worm castings and kelp meal mid-veg.
  • Reduce synthetic nutes in favor of organic teas during rainy periods.

Pro Tip: Keep a grow journal (or use StrainTree) to log EC/pH/runoff and plant response. This data improves future AI predictions for similar crosses.

Dream OG rewards balanced feeding with sweet berry-kush buds loaded with resin — perfect for both creative daytime use and evening relaxation. Start conservative and scale up as the plant tells you what it needs.

Nose First, Percentage Second

Lab printouts are useful. They are not the whole story. A cut that smells loud, cured clean, and burns white will outperform a bigger THC number that tastes like cardboard. Ask for the nose. Ask who grew it. Ask what the jar smelled like when it opened — not just what the sticker claims.

At The Stoner Review we score what we actually smoke: flavor, effect shape, ash, and whether we would buy it again with our own money. That is the difference between a menu write-up and a field note.

How We Session It

We start light, then push the dose once the terp profile is clear. Daytime cuts get daylight tests. Heavy indica leaners get evening runs. If a pre-roll or flower cannot survive a real session without canoeing, harshing, or disappearing into generic haze, it does not get a free pass from marketing copy.

Keep notes. Compare against last month's shelf. The culture moves fast; your memory should move with it.
