Here is the honest field note: there is no second New Jersey mega-fest sitting on the public calendar after NECANN. What is left is sharper, smaller, and more local — Cars & Cannabis on the Boardwalk, Cannabis Regulatory Commission meetings in Trenton, and a handful of nearby shows worth the drive if the culture still pulls you.

What NECANN Left Behind
NECANN AC closed out mid-September. The hallway energy was real — growers talking cure without a script, budtenders comparing notes, heads in actual cotton instead of lanyard cosplay. Answer: culture does not clock out with the trade show. It relocates to car-show lots, public meetings, and the weeknight drives that never make a national flyer. That is the post-NECANN lane — less LED wall, more Boardwalk asphalt and Trenton agendas.

October 17 — Cars & Cannabis at Showboat (Atlantic City)
Mark it: Cars & Cannabis, October 17, Showboat Hotel, 801 Boardwalk, Atlantic City. The public shape of the day, as currently advertised by organizers, is a late-afternoon into evening hang — think car-show energy roughly 4–9pm, with 21+ vendor areas and a RIX / Dispensary Takeover lane in the mix.
Caveats, because trust beats hype:
- Organizer URLs have been known to keep an old Edison slug even when the venue is Showboat AC — confirm you are reading the Atlantic City page, not a leftover redirect title.
- Roll-in / load-in windows have conflicted in circulating copy (early afternoon vs mid-afternoon). If you are bringing a car, verify the ticket or registration page the week of.
- Treat every vendor and takeover claim as “confirm on-site / on the ticket page,” not as a guarantee printed on a Ferris graphic.
What we can say without cosplay: Oct 17 is the clearest NJ culture magnet still on the board after NECANN. Boardwalk night, cars, cannabis-adjacent retail energy, and the kind of hallway you dress for — not a pitch deck you screenshot.

CRC Trenton — Oct 22 and Dec 10
If Cars & Cannabis is the night out, CRC is the morning that decides how the industry breathes. Public Cannabis Regulatory Commission meetings are currently indicated for October 22 and December 10, both around 11am, with Trenton as the default gravity.
Verify before you drive: agendas, rooms, and street addresses shift. Bookmark nj.gov/cannabis/meetings and check the week of. Showing up to the wrong door with a thermos and a notebook is a classic Northeast move — and still a waste of a tank of gas.
CRC days are not festival days.
